I believe the Prospector is the cheapest of these pencils.... and the American Naturals are among the cheapest 'name brand' pencils generally available in the US. Seems you get what you pay for (if you're lucky)

I really like the Forest Choice. As you say the finish is great, super smooth with a "natural" look and feel. There is also the Papermate American Naturals - but its a bit of a let down, unless you like that rough-sawn feel. Guess I'll have to get a Musgrave to try.

Yep, that is definitely strange that we both posted about the natural finish pencils so close together.

I have the Prospector in bright green and it looks like I need to get the natural finish one to widen the collection (well, need may be a strong word). My Blackfeet is the later version with the black ferrule. I've been on the lookout for the silver version. And I definitely have the same opinion about the Musgrave - very nice.
