Quite a while ago I saw a sharpener for oval shaped pencils on the internet. It was built differently than an usual sharpener, with some kind of sliding mechanism. Can somebody shed a light on that?

In the 1920's there was another speciality pencil, namely Stabilo's "Dermatograph". It was used by surgeons to mark the skin where the cuts were applied. As far as I know, this "Dermatograph" later became an eye liner that subsequently started Stabilo's activities in cosmetics.
