Pencil blog tools
Okay, maybe the same amount of conversation. But in some cases, less subjective. I’ve acquired a few tools to assist in describing some of the physical properties of pencils – a ruler, micrometer, and scale. (Well, I already owned the ruler.)

  • A vernier calliper has probably enough accuracy for pencil work, and can measure more dimensions than a micrometer. But I can’t deny that micrometers are nice to have around.

Be careful with the scale; there are really very few legitimate uses for these, and in some jurisdictions owning one is enough to cause suspicion of drug dealing.

  • Hmm, I thought it was a regular office postage scale.
